Hundertwasser Streamers in Ultramarine III socks

76 sts CO size 1 DPNs. 7 row picot edge, Dutch aka Horseshoe heel...not as nice as Welsh heel, Star Toe of Three Points...my favorite! Love Opal yarn...but not too happy that there was a break in it and the yarn was reattached with the pattern going in the opposite direction?! This has happened to me twice now! It was a pain but I managed to match up the stripes after a big knotted mess of unraveling and reraveling.

Crafty just not knitty

I made these cards online from pictures Rich and I took this past summer in Wales. I gave them to my mother for her birthday but she says they're too nice to use!

Chaussettes de Dentelle Lacy Socks

From Folk Socks book by Nancy Bush in Schaefer Anne 15 with size 0 DPNs. Schaefer Anne is really soft and wonderful. Next time I'd do a different heel than the pattern said since I think it is disproportionate. I'd probably use bigger needles on the leg too. As it is pattern called for 00s! 11 sts/in!

Knitting Christmas/Winter Solstice Presents

Silky lined knitting bag with current project: Chaussettes de Dentelle (Lacy Socks) from Folk Socks book by Nancy Bush in Schaefer Anne 15.

Stash of Opal Hundertwasser Der Blaue Mond (The Blue Moon), Singender Dampfer in Ultramarin III (Streamers in Ultramarine III), Positive Seelenbaume (Positive Souls of the Trees), and Silver Spiral. It usually annoys me to just see pictures of unknitted yarn on blogs...but let's consider this a "before" shot! So far my favorite is Silver Spiral but Positive Souls is really growing on me! Will be kitting with Hundertwasser as soon as my Chaussettes de Dentelle are done!

North Star Mittens

North Star Mittens from book Knit Mittens in Lion Brand Baby Soft cream and bubble gum. Pattern and online errata both confusing. Next time I think I'd knit them with worsted weight yarn instead of sport.

Not Socks

Not socks are based on Chain Rib Socks pattern page 48 Sensational Knitted Socks. CO 78 sts. size US2 DPNs. Froehlich Wolle Blauband Jacquard. Heel is 39 sts. Foot worked in size US1 DPNs. Called "not socks" thanks to Rich's ability to see binary humor in my mistake and convincing me to not rip them out. Sock no 1's chain pattern goes o-o-o-o- etc. while sock no 2's chain pattern goes -o-o-o-o etc. because I read the pattern wrong the second time! Not that you can even tell since the pattern in the yarn is so crazy! Reinforcing thread in heels and toes. Eye of partridge heel.

Battenburg Cake

This year's birthday cake extravaganza for my son. Made with cocoa instead of red food coloring and 6 squares instead of 4 (like recipe called for) since I can't estimate 1/2 or count to 4. Is not like he cares tho...when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday he said "dirt cups."
