Cheese Tags
These are cheese tags I made for Thanksgiving appetizer plate. I was too cheap to spend $20 to buy porcelain ones at Sur La Table so my son said I should draw my own! (I like mine better!) We're having fig preserves with Brie and Gouda on whole grain crackers.

Hundertwasser knee socks
Opal Hundertwasser knee socks in "Der Blaue Mond" Blue Moon color. Started off with Knitpicks two socks on one circular pattern with US size 1 40" Harmony needles. Didn't like the heel the pattern made...but oh well! Ended up on 32" addi turbos after Harmony needles had untimely accident with the vacuum cleaner. I just sort of made up the calf shaping as I went along and the picot bind off (which I love) is from More Sensational Knitted Socks (Birthday present :-D). These socks took an awful long time to make. And were frustrating to match up the stripes even tho the two balls were from the same dye lot. As it is the loosely knit sock weighs 70g while the tighter one weighs 66ish. I know I'm the only one who will ever care! LOL Am generally pleased with the results and can't wait for the cold weather to be snuggled up in my first hand-knit pair of knee socks.

Vacuuming Mishap
My new vacuum cleaner is a monster! It sucked up my latest project. Luckily the socks survived but my circular needles didn't! Socks in progress are Opal Hundertwasser Der Blaue Mond/Blue Moon. Needles were Knitpicks 40" Harmony circulars size 1. I knew I'd break them eventually...I just didn't see it happening this way! Pattern is a mixture of Knitpicks two socks on one circular free pattern and my own modifications to make them knee socks. Can't say I'm too crazy about the heel design. And matching up stripes is harder than I thought it would be using this method since it appears that even tho they are the same dye-lot the print on the yarn is different.

Perfect Pie Shawl and one of Three Tams from Knitty
Shawl is from Weekend Knitting book made from Lion Brand Romance 85% acrylic and 15% mohair, made in Italy, in color no 143 lavender...whaddya want for $5? Oh it's trimmed with Lanett superwash lilac...I think...I have so many different kinds of purple-colored scrap yarn I can't remember. Tam is tam B from Three Tams off of Knitty.com. Background is Lion Brand Wool-Ease in color camel. Pink and purple is from Patons SWS 70% wool and 30% soy. I really like this stuff! It's very colorful and soft. I blocked the tam on a plate and am very pleased! It made it even softer and has lovely drape. I used less than a ball for the tam and am now working on a matching scarf.

beaded rib baby socks
Sensational Knitted Socks pattern. Lion Brand Magic Stripes yarn no 208 Stonewashed Blue. Size US 2/2.75 mm needles. Made for size 4 baby shoe. I would do the leg in a larger size needle next time…seems disproportionate to the foot. Have made baby booties, this pair of socks, and still have enough left over for something else.

Hundertwasser Streamers in Ultramarine III socks
76 sts CO size 1 DPNs. 7 row picot edge, Dutch aka Horseshoe heel...not as nice as Welsh heel, Star Toe of Three Points...my favorite! Love Opal yarn...but not too happy that there was a break in it and the yarn was reattached with the pattern going in the opposite direction?! This has happened to me twice now! It was a pain but I managed to match up the stripes after a big knotted mess of unraveling and reraveling.

Knitting Christmas/Winter Solstice Presents
Stash of Opal Hundertwasser Der Blaue Mond (The Blue Moon), Singender Dampfer in Ultramarin III (Streamers in Ultramarine III), Positive Seelenbaume (Positive Souls of the Trees), and Silver Spiral. It usually annoys me to just see pictures of unknitted yarn on blogs...but let's consider this a "before" shot! So far my favorite is Silver Spiral but Positive Souls is really growing on me! Will be kitting with Hundertwasser as soon as my Chaussettes de Dentelle are done!
